Walking in search of one's dreams may in principle seem challenging and at the same time stimulating to those who allow themselves to venture into the unknown.

We can say that this premise fits perfectly the trajectory of our forever student Débora Oliveira dos Santos, now 23, who knew how to seize the opportunities in pursuit of her goals. Débora was approved by the Brazilian Navy, which has a partnership with Flamengo for the formation of the women's soccer team. For 45 days she participated in the training course, graduating as a third navy sergeant. This new reality provided financial stability to follow the career as a soccer player, something atypical within the Brazilian reality for women´s football. She became champion of the military games, currently disputes series A1 of the Brazilian Championship and will soon dispute the state championship in Rio de Janeiro. Determination and strength together with the will to overcome and believe that what seems impossible can materialize and turn dreams into reality.

Débora has been a Karanba participant since we opened our program for girls in 2011. She also played a key role when we won the Norway Cup in 2013, leading by example both on and off the pitch.
